Happy Birthday, Thatha! We miss you!

Yesterday was Thatha's birthday!  Nisha celebrated with a quality video call with Thatha and Paati in Paris.  We miss you guys!  Here is Nisha with her annual celebratory signs for Thatha... yay!  

Park outing with everyone

     We went on a family outing to the park to enjoy the few overlapping days that no one was at work.  It was so much fun!

There was definitely an asymmetric distribution of weight on this rocking horse.

Ben Mama and Gita Chitti visit!

      Ben Mama and Gita Chitti have come to visit from Boston on their first vacation from residency, and they are thrilled to be here!  They missed us all a lot.

Here is them on the plane, busting at the seams to see Nisha shortly!  (and Uma, Dave and Mark too, of course).

Nisha recognized them and smiled when they first got here -- it was a beautiful moment!  Luckily, Gita Chitti did not spout a whole bunch of tears, which has been known to happen in the past! :)

Vacation in St. Louis!

     It has been a while since the last post!  We have been busy with internship, fellowship and daycareship.  Much has happened including lots of fun with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Lesley and lots of other loved ones from St. Charles!  We were thrilled with our vacation last week in St. Louis.  Check out some of these pics from the good times!

We went to the Como Park Zoo in St. Paul. This was actually Nisha's 2nd trip there, but last time, she slept through the whole trip! This time, she got to see some animals!

June!

June was not quite as jovial as its predecessor - Gita Chitti and Ben Mama had to pack up and move to Boston to start residency! And all our wonderful family visitors (Mom, Pop, Savi Periamma, the Wetters) went back home! After the all the excitement of May, June was a bit muted. We really miss the constant presence of Gita and Ben in our house, but we are adjusting to it. We are happy knowing they are settling into Boston well, and of course, showing the East Coast what Mayo med students are made of!!

Late in June, David finally graduated from Dermatology residency and Uma started her residency in Internal Medicine at Mayo. The new schedules are going to be very challenging for us, especially now that we have a very active one-year-old on our hands, but so far, we’re getting by!! Here are some random pics of Nisha from the month of June.

May was a BIG month!

My apologies for the lack of blog updates recently! Life has been a whirlwind (as you will see below)! May was a wonderful, exciting month for our family. 1) Paati and Savi Periamma came to visit. 2) Gita, Ben and Uma graduated from medical/graduate school. There was a huge family turnout, including Vin from NYC, the Wetters, the Sandefurs 3) Paati, Thatha, Nisha, Ben, Gita, Uma & Dave went to Maui on vacation 4) Nisha turned ONE on May 28th!!! 5) Grandma Pat and Grandpa Steve came back to Rochester to celebrate Nisha's b'day again! Here are some pics (kind of out of order) that capture some of the moments!

Maija and Nisha were reunited this weekend. We were all celebrating the graduation of Andy, Brintha's brother-in-law, from university. The pictures were taken at the lovely home of Kristian and Andy's aunt and uncle, who live in Minneapolis.
